Wild herb hike of the working group Eifel in summer 2021

On 09.07.2021 our wild herb hike of the working group Eifel took place. We were a group of 13 people.
Ralf Berg, chef and owner of the Vulkanhotel Steffelberg, showed us that you don’t have to walk far at all to find wild herbs.
Nettle, goutweed, St. John’s wort, coltsfoot, groundsel, elderflowers, wild carrot, chickweed, daisies, dandelion, evening primrose, wall pepper and many more grow along the way. He explained to us how each herb can be used in the kitchen and what health-promoting vikings they possess. Many flavors only come out when you rub your leaves for a long time.
Unfortunately, the hike was then quickly interrupted by a heavy rain shower.
After a change of clothes, however, we were able to enjoy a very tasty wild herb menu from Ralf.

After the delicious meal there was still new information from the association

In spite of the rain it was a wonderful excursion, which all participants would like to repeat next year.
